Adoptions are really slow right now, we did find a home for another Shep mix puppy this weekend! So, if you know of anyone looking for a new furry family member, please send them in HELP’s direction. We have a new adoption fee schedule according to what type of home the animal needs. The Director learned about doing this at the 1st No Kill Conference in DC this past May and we are giving it a try! Keep good thoughts that this will help in placing some very special animals at the shelter!

We still have tons of Wizard tickets to sell, apparently Wizard tickets are not that popular.  The game is June 13, so just a few days away!  The tickets are only $15/each and a portion goes to HELP for care of the animals in our shelter.  Please help us help them!

Poor Angie found a kitty on the side of the road this morning that had been hit by a car, had massive internal injuries and we had to let her go to The Bridge. Angie has NEVER had to hold a paw while they moved on. WHY would someone not stop to help an animal they hit on the road?  Do those people not think about the suffering that they are ignoring?  Do they just go about their day and that animal doesnt even cross their mind again?

Several kitties got in a brawl tonight under the T-kennels and it was not pretty, we couldnt get to them to get them broken up and Amanda, who is a traumatized kitty as it is was pretty shaken up.  Once we got her out of there, she went to another room and crashed out.  Later she was calmer and let me give her some attention.  I felt really bad about what happened to all of them 😦

We got 3 more of our Shep puppies from the foster home into the shelter today, enjoy the pictures!  Nothing like the innocence of a sleeping puppy, the most clear pictures as they didnt want to stop moving!  They are just adorable!

One of our faithful supporters and volunteer found a feral mama and 5 kittens.  She has only be able to trap 1 so far, send good trapping thoughts, they need socialization quickly!  Too bad mama kitty wasnt spayed before she had kittens 😦

I am only going to post good news today!  We learned that a huge company is going to allow us onto their property to trap/neuter/return feral cats!! This is such great news as rumor has it there are 100+ cats there and spring is here, so we must stop their breeding! Yay! Thier lives will be so much better!  And to think this started on Saturday when a security officer approached some of our trappers at the building next to it and confronted them with an order to stop feeding the cats. Our trappers explained about TNR and that we had permission to do it. Apparently, that officer talked to someone else and it got back to a decision maker who WANTS us to do TNR at the other building also!  This is fantastic news!

Over the weekend, we adopted out one of our Shep puppies and 3 adult cats! Any adoption is great but adult cats in the middle of kitten season is twice as sweet!

Got a much needed donation of $2000 from a great supporter! Woohoo!  Pictures of Shep puppies coming tomorrow!
